Frequently Asked Questions
Our 4” Filters will work great on all Big Block and Small Block Chevy, Chrysler, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, and Ford applications. Works with naturally aspirated, supercharged or turbo cars. Our 4” Filter can flow more than 35 gallons per minute which will out flow all of these engines stock oil pump. The 4” Filters are used when space is limited.
Our 6” Filters are used in application like an all Aluminum Hemi (or other similar engines) running more than 100 lbs of oil pressure. We also recommend the 6” Filter when running 60 or 70 weight oil. Most of our Tractor Pullers and Pro Mod drag cars run these larger filters. They are Great for Dyno use and can also be used in Dry Sump systems.

The 4” Screw-On Filters use an 13/16” - 16 Thread Per Inch Threaded Insert to spin the disposable filter onto the bottom of the See Through Oil Filter.

- WIX Filter – Part # 51069R (half Quart Spin-On)
- WIX Filter – Part # 51060R (full Quart Spin-On)
The 6” Screw-On Filters use an 1-1/2” - 12 Thread Per Inch Threaded Insert to spin the disposable filter onto the bottom of the See Through Oil Filter.
We recommend the following Disposable Spin-On Filters:
- FleetGuard– Part # LF3363

Our Filter Elements are made from a reusable stainless steel mesh with Viton® rubber seals around the inside and outside edges. Elements can be reused many times over and over again by simply cleaning the element. It is recommend to always have a spare element in to tool box just in case the seal begins to fail or it becomes damaged.
Elements come in different micron mesh to accommodate all different types, thicknesses
and viscosities of oils and fluids. The Smaller the Microns are the finer the screen is, and the Larger the Microns are the Coarser the screen is. Meaning the 60 micron element's mesh material is waven tighter together so it will trap more particles compared to the 380 micron element's material mesh has more space between the weaves and will allow more particles to flow through.
The 28 Micron Element works when filtering Fuels or Transmission fluid.
The 60 Micron Element work for Engine Oils up to 50 weight.
The 115 Micron Element works for 60 & 70 weight Oils. And these elements are the recommend replacement element for either the 4” or 6” Screw-On Filters, our Dry Sump Tanks and on any Dry Sump Scavenge Filters.
The 380 Micron Element works with oils up to 70 weight. These Elements are a very coarse 380 micron mesh which allows diesel soot to flow through without gumming up the element. replacement element for dry sump tanks and scavenge filters for extreme diesel applications.
The correct way to hook up our filters to our adapter is as follows: the adapters are labeled IN and OUT and the Filters are to. When out Block Adapters are installed correctly the dirty engine oil will flow OUT of the outlet in the block adapter and it will need to be ran to the IN on the top of the See Through filter assembly labeled IN. The dirty oil will flow through the screen and the disposable filter if running one and then flow back OUT of the bottom outlet port of the filter assembly back to the engine again by using the IN of the block adapter.
**If you do have a disposable filter on the bottom of your See Through Filter, and you ran your engine with the lines incorrect, you should throw out that disposable filter and get new one. !!! They are only meant to flow oil one way and flowing incorrectly may have damaged the gasket material and may cause future issues. Again it is recommend to get that replaced if it was ran incorrectly for any period of time.
